Industrial Sales Management Assistant

The everyday role of an industrial sales management assistant consists predominantly of routine tasks and executing projects. During the apprenticeship, the apprentice passes through a range of departments, in order to gain an insight into the corporate structures and working processes. These include:

•    Materials management
•    Production
•    Finance and accounting
•    HR
•    Sales
•    Purchasing
•    Production planning
•    Shipping

Alongside commercial, technical and legal skills, the profession of industrial sales management assistant usually also requires foreign language skills. This varied and versatile apprenticeship gives the industrial sales management assistant extensive options for work in all commercial sectors.

It is also worth mentioning that some individual tasks are documented using specialised computer programs, allowing all relevant departments and working groups access to them. The varied activities of an industrial sales management assistant are not limited to working on a computer, where all business processes are worked on, but also include communicating reliably and convincingly with colleagues, suppliers and customers.

In the last year of the apprenticeship, the apprentice undertakes an initial, basic specialisation in a particular functional division. The apprentice’s strengths, interests and skills are taken into account in choosing this field, so that it also provides starting points for further qualifications and areas of activity in his later professional life.

The apprenticeship takes three years and ends with the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Trade) examination.
